ADULT CAMP - For students 18 and older
June 1-2, 2024
All day Saturday, one overnight, half day Sunday, at least 5 meals provided.
Adults MUST complete both days.

Master Martinez
Master Martinez started training in Tang Soo Do under Master Burgos in Orocovis, Puerto Rico at the age of 10 and received his Black belt at the age of 14. He was Jr Blackbelt Grand Champion of Region 18 two times and Region 18 Adult Black Belt Grand Champion three times. He has the honor of being the youngest Puerto Rican to be at the Master Clinic and also to be 5th Dan Master. In 2011, won Most Outstanding Athlete in his hometown.
Master Patrick Marsch

Master Patrick Marsch began martial arts training in 1972 in Tae Kwon Do and joined Tang Soo Do in 1979 under Master Instructor Young H Kwon and fledgling instructor Larry Dercole. The school joined WTSDA at its founding and he attended the founding conference in Philadelphia as a Cho Dan Bo. He received his Cho Dan in 1983 and became Chief Instructor at University of California Tang Soo Do program leading that program for over 25 years and mentoring future instructors including current Chief Instructor Master Miguel Soto.
He participated in numerous delegations to Mexico with KCN Shin helping to establish WTSDA in that part of the world. He received Masters rank in 1996. He currently serves as Regional Director for Region 20 and as a Master Instructor at Allied Gardens Tang Soo Do Karate Academy in San Diego. In addition to WTSDA he is a certified instructor in the International Philippine Martial Arts Federation and is a frequent guest instructor in regional clinics and Masters Camps in the use of arnisescrima cane and bladed weapons.
Master Claire Marsch
Yuk Dan, 020655
Began martial arts training in 1972 in Tae Kwon Do. Joined Tang Soo Do in 1979 and the WTSDA at its founding. Received Cho Dan in 1983. She won the first Womens WTSDA World Championship Cup in 1992. Master Marsch was a pioneer female in the martial arts and was featured in numerous delegations to Mexico with KCN as a role model for other women and girls in the martial arts running her own dojang for over 20 years.
She received Masters rank in 1996 and in 2002 was appointed the first female Regional Director in WTSDA for Region 20 when it split off from Region 1. She has contributed greatly to the growth of WTSDA assisting Master Frank Waller by writing the Board proposal that was approved to pilot and establish the WTSDA Scholarship program. She was appointed by the TAC to the task force that created the WTSDA Judges Training program. She served as Chair of the Women & Childrens Committee that conducted numerous sessions in various Masters Camps and culminated in the popular Womens Demo at the 2018 World Championships. She has served on the Strategic Planning Committee and, as WTSDAs first female Yuk Dan is a frequent guest instructor in many Regional Camps and Ki-Gong clinics.
Master Michael W. Hicks, Sr.
Master Hicks is a certified 5th degree black belt instructor with the World Tang Soo Do Association. He began his marital arts career in 1971 and has been teaching for over 53 years. He has personally trained over 35 black belts. With 4 students currently Masters who also now run schools in the U.S.
Master Hicks served as Region 6 Director for 8 years until 1990 and was named World Tang Soo Do Association Master of the Year. While head of the weapons sub-committee, he was personally responsible for the development of the first Association Korean Sword Form.
Master Hicks is a retired Alabama Army National Guard Sergeant First Class. From 1971 to 1991 he was in charge of a platoon of Huey Helicopter mechanics and was also in charge of firearms training for his company.
Master Hicks is a retired veteran police officer from the state of Alabama. He served his state for 38 years in two cities. He was a police officer for the city of Montgomery, 1975 to 1995. He moved to Birmingham and served the UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham) police department, 1995 to 2013.
During Master Hicks twenty years as a Montgomery Police officer, he worked in the public school D.A.R.E. program and was named D.A.R.E Officer of the Year in 1994. While at MPD he was an Academy Instructor for 7 years. He taught firearms training, defensive tactics, use of the baton, pressure point control tactics. Other divisions he was in, patrol, motors, k-9, and school security. He was a Pressure Point Control Tactics instructor, Violent Patient Management instructor, and a Firearms instructor, during his service with the UAB Police Department. He recently retired from the UAB after eighteen years of service.
